Robert is currently developing three main projects. Before 1790: The Origins of Kant's Aesthetics examines Kant’s engagement with eighteenth-century European writers on aesthetic theory. The project highlights the philosophical value of this period in the history of aesthetics.

He is interested in philosophical contributions to empirical research on the emotions, in particular awe and the sublime.

A third project involves the editing and translation of philosophical works in German, French, and Italian during the modern period. Please contact him if interested in any of these.
